Sometime in early November 2013 I received a call from William, cai verzi pe pereti download the doctor who accompanied me to Fosgo'r previous year. I was invited to join his crew on a weekend trip to Copenhagen to see Bryn Terfel sings in concert. His intention was to fly from Manchester on Saturday morning, to see the concert in the evening, returning Sunday cai verzi pe pereti download evening.
He sounds like a great idea. Yet, I was not quite sure. As someone who loves to travel but still get value for money, and I suspect could justify spending over 100 on Easyjet flight and at least 80 pounds to see the concert, only to spend less than two days on the other end. I told him I would think about it.
A week or so later, ailystyriais. There was more than one way to get Wil to bed. He did not have to travel on the same plane and the others. I remembered that I was collecting air miles. And so, instead of paying the full fee, booked a business class flight with British Airways on my air miles for just 50. I also decided to fly there a day earlier than the others, to see some more of the city than what we have seen otherwise.
As with my trip to Filbao in September of 2013, he asked me to start early. Thankfully, traffic was very quiet and I was at Manchester airport by 6am. Leave the car in the "Meet & Greet" - the first time I ever use that type of parking facility - and clear the normal safety requirements. Then I was able to experience peace in the hospitality BA business class lounge and grab some breakfast.
He left the plane for London promptly at 7:35, arriving at Heathrow in about half an hour. It was not possible to fly direct from Manchester to Copenhagen with BA, but the link between Manchester and London will be included in the free tour. While at Heathrow I had the opportunity to experience the hospitality cai verzi pe pereti download of an extra plane. cai verzi pe pereti download Although the lounge is larger and provides a wider choice of refreshments, it was extremely busy. One Manchester is nicer because it is more like what a lounge should be: a quiet place to relax. However there were plenty of refreshments and continued provision - including champagne! - On the two-hour flight to Copenhagen.
Arriving at the hotel is quite simple and straightforward process. Following a twenty minute ride on the metro and clean modern airport cai verzi pe pereti download Kastrup, I reached my home for the first night, the Hotel Copenhagen, plain but reasonably priced hotel. Accommodation was located not far from the city center area in Islands Brygge. As the name suggests the area, there are a number of streets in the terms of the hotel named after cities and towns in Iceland and the Faroe Islands, reminder of probably Danish Empire or Pax Danica.
In the evening I went for a walk to the city center and see the big square Radhusplaset neon signs and shouting from the walls of nearby buildings, before walking along the commercial vein called the Strøget. I went for a gastro-pub food in one of the side streets running off the main street. He Tight provides coverage which is a combination cai verzi pe pereti download of influences Danish, European and Australian. My daughter was in her twenties serving Australian character enough cheerful and friendly. I had French onion soup to start, followed by a main course of fyrger cai verzi pe pereti download on focaccia bread and beer locally. The food was good, pity so that two things are leaving this place down: (1) there has been for them almost forget my main course, and (2) the place was too dark: the light is very low in place but need some light or it is difficult to see what we are trying to eat!
Later on I went to the famous Tivoli park and spent a good hour there. The park and fairground has reopened this day for the Christmas season. The place was full of the Christmas spirit, with fake snow, stalls cai verzi pe pereti download and Santa's grotto. It was also nice to see buildings from around the world as the theater Tsheiniaidd, the Russian church and the Arab mansion will be lit at night. At the lake in the middle of the park we had strobe lights and water show to music Tshaicofsci. Darfyddais the evening with a cup of Gløgg, the Danish version of mulled wine. I tried to ask for one in Danish, but I guess that what I said to the waiter is more like a German. Only one country away, I was almost correct.
I woke up for breakfast at the Hotel Viking Copenhagen nutritious fwsli, some semblance of a smorgasbord, coffee and apple juice. I made my way over to my house and the rest of the crew on Saturday night at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia, four-star hotel is also located in Islands Brygge. I had hardly resuscitation in its luxurious lobby when the trio through the spinning doors. It was William, Ellen and John that morning with a new Easyjet flight direct from Manchester.
After unpacking in our bedrooms, we went for g
