It is a nuisance for fishing and is destructive of biodiversity. The black resulted goby has lately invaded Denmark in style. It has gone from nonexistent to the dominant species in both Eastern Europe and North America, and now DTU shed light on what it takes to avoid the same in Denmark.
Last week gathered professionals from ten countries at just DTU to share experiences about the problem, and according to Jane Behrens, fishtales researcher at the Section fishtales for Ocean Ecology Oceanography fishtales at DTU Aqua, it is imperative to take care of the invasive gobies.

In the 1990s it appeared in the Bay of Gdansk and is now predominant in Poland's coastal waters. In the same decade invaded the Great Lakes in North America. Nor has it been turned it down, and black resulted goby is now dominant species there.
"It's here and we're not gonna get with it, so it is obvious to eat it. There is nothing in the way for which it has very fine white and lean meat. But the Danes might have some difficulty accepting a new fish on the menu, "she says, adding that the black goby resulted eaten in Eastern and Southern Europe, and that it is natural to use mink feed.
DTU has received funding of Nature Agency to investigate the problem further. Among other things, it is still unclear to what extent the invasive fish can migrate to deep waters, and further opportunities for the commercialization also be illuminated.
