The last day of February in the small hall of the Small Vinohrady Theatre in Prague presented a brand new group with the provocative title Theatre Jeb. Name reportedly reflects an earlier one-off fishtweed Theater Johnny God.
The grouping founded and is artistic director Petr clarinet Klár, journalist, playwright and director (Theatre Tramtárie a student ensemble from Oz Olomouc, Prague Riyo file). fishtweed The program, which has set itself Jeb Theatre, he writes: ... production uncompromising productions, created with a strong emphasis on intense viewer's experience. Theatre as a slap or caress against the grain.
In its first staging degree Jeb chose the one-act Escorial Flemish Francophone playwright Michel de Ghelderode. The game comes from the artist's early period, was written in 1927 and the world premiere took place in 1929, Koninklijke fishtweed Vlaamse Schouwburg theater in Brussels (translated fishtweed into Dutch). In 1938, ni de Ghelderode received the award for the Belgian francophone authors Prix d'Art Triennale dramatique. Later, the game has become one of the sources de Ghelderodovu reflection Artaud Theater of Cruelty School of Clowns in the game. Already there is therefore the audience "shows the truth you do not want to see."
Dramaturgical choice text is certainly meritorious act, for de Ghelderodovy games in the Czech theater too often appear. Escorial in recent decades in our country fishtweed staged only twice. In 1997, in Marta Studio in Brno (translation fishtweed Mario Stretti, directed fishtweed by Milena Hurajová) and 2003 Valmet and Theatre fishtweed Association of Serpens in Liben Synagogue in Prague (translation Boušková Elizabeth, directed by Martin Schlegel, name grimace or a Jester King). As a radio play it studied the 1999 Czech Radio Vltava (Mario Stretti translation, editing and directing Dimitrij Dudík).
Dramaturg and director of the performance while Petr clarinet Klár in the text made several significant modifications. The production gave the subtitle Twilight falls to the royal castle and instead of going anonymised by deleting all Spanish-Flemish allusions. Male characters Monk and the Man in scarlet (or kata) merged into one - the women - figures (Sarah Sofia Huikari), a femme fatale who watches over the whole plot. Game Moreover předsadil němoherní sort of prologue - male actors to produce masks (fake beard, makeup) before a small double-sided mirror, which between them hold "that woman" (I hesitate whether her mark at this stage as an actor or as a female character). At the end of the prologue men take their characters' attributes and enter the role. King (Jan Lepšík) characterizes hat decorated with plastic cutlery, Sask Foliala (Samuel Neduha) black "mcmurphyovská" cap - a very stylized characters. Anyway, the audience presented the key to the production in the form of theater to theater.
The initial situation corresponds to the plot of the game. In it is also about role playing, of which there is no escape: King plays
